About Our Founder and President
John’s career began as an American History teacher in a local suburban Philadelphia school district. While teaching full time, he earned two master’s degrees, one in Technology & Education and the other in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania.
His foray into sales led him to CBS Digital as the head of local digital media sales. Intrigued by the new industry and undaunted by an unfamiliar technology, John took a deep dive. He quickly acquired knowledge through self-education and rolled out the Digital Transformation strategy that spelled SUCCESS for his team of 100+ sales representatives. With John leading the way, revenue increased 30% in the first year.
After he entered and finished the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, John was exhilarated by this experience. Seeking new opportunities for career growth and leadership roles, John joined Philadelphia Insurance Companies, known for its Ironman workplace culture. As VP of Marketing and Sales, he led a team of high-performers, who finished with a 27% increase in sales revenue.
Impelled by his passion for golf and history, John co-founded and was Vice President of The Cobbs Creek Foundation. In 2016, John and his partners established the nonprofit to sustainably restore the landmark Cobbs Creek Golf Course and provide inclusive community programs. In addition to a state-of-the-art golf campus, the $60M renovation will include a space for educational and enrichment programs in partnership with the School District of Philadelphia, the First Tee, and the Boys and Girls Club.
John channels his entrepreneurial calling through Dormie Partners, providing digital transformation strategies and government-affairs consulting to sports franchises, the manufacturing and automotive sectors, universities, and nonprofit clients.
